Catalog note / 解説
"Tokaido Meisho no Uchi" (The Scenic Places of Tokaido). This large series by different artists and publishers was made for the commemoration of shogun Tokugawa Iemochi's historic travel from Edo to Kyoto to pay respect to the emperor. Co-works by Kyosai( lower left area), Yoshitora (right area) and Hiroshige II (back ground). A group of wild people is passing by in the morning. The courtesans look out what is going on the street. The flag says, "The world is peaceful and prosper".
