Catalog note / 解説
"Tofuku-ji Tobi-ishi" (Stepping Stones at Tofuku-ji Temple, Kyoto). It was built in 1236 as the head temple of the Tofukuji School of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. This print shows the square-cut stones and deep-green moss in chequered pattern in the northern garden.
