11/12/2004 KAORU KAWANO (1916-1965) ORIGINAL WOODBLOCK PRINT In the mid 1960's my parents went on an around-the-world trip with other physicians to attend an international Cancer Research Symposium and subsequently visit medical research facilities. Their final stop before returning to Los Angeles was Tokyo where they stayed at the marvelous Imperial Hotel. The Imperial Hotel was known as the home to the finest shops and galleries to be found in Tokyo. While at the Imperial Hotel they purchased a number of original Woodblock Prints from "M.
