Catalog note / 解説

"Nichiro Kousen Kibun". Private First Class, Ohashi Keikichi, scouted the depth of a river so that the fellow troop could cross it. He encountered an enemy soldier, snatched his rifle and killed him. The Russo-Japanese war prints were far scarce than Sino-Japanese war prints. This print was unique even among the Russo-Japanese war prints because it depicted non-caricatured Russian soldiers as the main subject.
