Woodblock “Sketches of GI’s” Postcard Folio by Sanzo Wada (c1948) An interesting and historical woodblock set of 3 postcards with original outer folio by Japanese artist Sanzo Wada (1883-1968) titled “Wood-cut print Sketches of G.I. in New Japan.” The three views are titled on the backside of each individual postcard as “A Snowy Sight at Hibiya Junction in Tokyo,” “Sanjo Bridge in Kyoto,” and “Japanese Coming Home on Hakata Pier.” Circa 1948. Historically interesting?of course, produced early during America’s occupation of Japan. Nicely printed. These cards are slightly curled, but are in excellent condition, having been safely stored inside their original, other printed folio cover. Fresh,…
