Catalog note / 解説
From the series "Setsugetsuka" ("Snow-Moon-Flower"). Shinobazu pond is only a few hundred meters away from Ueno Park and the little shrine to Benten on an artificial island is visited by locals and tourists alike. During the early summer, lotus flowers explode into blossom in the pool, a living symbol of Buddhism (description by the artist, Paul Binnie).
