Haku Maki Print - Poem 71-52 - Bold Red Print Fine Japanese woodblock cement print by Haku Maki (1924- ), famous for his prints made with raised relief using cement relief built up on blocks of wood or cardboard (See Merritt and Yamada, p. 85). This one is titled in pencil in lower margin: 48/154 and Poem, 71-52 (445). At the very bottom margin in pencil is: W9-25-23 and I don t know the significance of this, if any. Signed in pencil lower right beneath image Haku Maki. Sealed in image (see picture). The pictures were taken in a raking light so you can appreciate the raised relief of the round black spot, and the blue mark below it. The red areas and the yellow spot are also printed in rais…
