Monday, 17 November 2008 Shin Hanga: Original Painting and Print Artist: Yamanaka Shoun Format: Painting on silk: 15" x 7.5"; o-tanzakuban tate-e: 14" x 7.5" approx Subject: An original painting on silk, in sumi and colours, of a white cockerel, signed and sealed Shoun and a first edition impression of the ukiyo-e based on the same design. Unique. Date: c.1900's Condition: Painting attached at edges to a folder of Japanese hosho with tapes. Glue residue from a previous matting at top and bottom edges, otherwise fine.
