Catalog note / 解説
I have researched this painting and believe it to be by: Kawarazaki SHODO (1889 - 1973) Date?? 1950 - 1955?? I think it is a woodblock painting. The colors are vibrante and rich. It is painted in such a way that it almost looks three dimentional. The matting opens like a book. The back is solid the print is lightly secured to that. The front opens right to left and the "window" for the print is cut out. The Matting is Approximately 18" X 13" The Print is Approximately 14" X 11" The blue and white stamp on the bottom right hand side reads: Shirokiya 521114 The gold stamp reads: made in Japan.
