Catalog note / 解説

From series, "Kabuki Juhachi-Ban" (Eighteen 18. "Kamahige". Taira Yoshikado was on the way of ascetic journey. When he stayed one night at a farmer's house, he was asked to hold a memorial service. Since he was very bearded in the long journey, he wanted to shave clean. A servant came to shave him. The man suddenly pushed the scythe to his neck to kill him because he found out Yoshikado was actually the offspring of Taira general Masakado. The man didn't know that Yoshikado was immortal.
