Moses smiting the Rock at Meribah, Exodus 17.3-6 Artist: Sadao Watanabe Description: Moses, followed by an Elder, strides purposefully with raised staff, to bring about the miraculous flow of water; his large dark eyes are symbolic of his unique vision and understanding. The charming alignment of sheep, two each to the right and left of the river, form a contrast to the hieratic composition above. Issued: 1972 Medium: color stencil on hand crumpled Momigami paper Edition: 32/70 Condition: Excellent impression and color. Slight buckling to left margin. Image Size: 26 3/4 by 23 inches Framed Size: unframed Signed: Sadao Watanabe in white ink
