Thursday, 16 March 2006 Takashi Ito Color Woodblock Japanese artist 1894-1982. Takashi Ito worked primarily as a painter. But he also created several dozens of landscape prints in Shin hanga style for Shozaburo Watanabe. His landscapes are idealized scenes of beauty and untouched nature. This is a vintage and original old color woodblock. Printed by Watanabe (red seal in lower left of image). “Yasaka Shrine after Snowfall? Kyoto” Beautiful snow scene depicting a valley stream, trees and the mountains. Has Japanese writing in the image and in the right and left margins. Has “Made In Japan” stamped on the verso.
