Hideo Hagiwara (Japanese, b. 1916) Flying Angel, No. 8 1970 color woodcut and mixed media #22 in an edition of 50 image: 24 1/2 x 17 inches paper: approx. 30 x 19 1/2 inches signed, dated, titled (Japanese and English) and numbered in pencil, lower margin very good condition matted behind glass needs reframing provenance: private collection, Los Angeles Hideo Hagiwara was born in Yamanashi, Japan. He is the master of the art of Japanese contemporary wood block printing, and is one of most repected printers in the world.
