Catalog note / 解説
From the series "Showa Dai-Tokyo Hyaku Zue Hanga" (One Hundred Views of Great Tokyo in Showa Period). No. 57. "Hanzo-mon; Ohoribata no Shuushoku". The Hanzo-mon Gate of the Chiyoda castle and the bright red autumn colors at the edge of the moat. The series depicted the new land marks and people's lives in Tokyo after the devastating Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. It was started in 1928 and finished 12 years later. The series was featured in the book, "Tokyo, The Imperial Capital: Woodblock Prints by Koizumi Kishio" by Wolfsonian.
