Catalog note / 解説

From the series "Showa Dai-Tokyo Hyaku Zue Hanga" (One Hundred Views of Great Tokyo in Showa Period). No. 75. "Sakurada Mon no Yuki" (Snow at Sakurada Gate). The series depicted the new land marks and people's lives in Tokyo after the devastating Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. It was started in 1928 and finished 12 years later. The series was featured in the book, "Tokyo, The Imperial Capital: Woodblock Prints by Koizumi Kishio" by Wolfsonian.
