寸法: 縦114.5cm:横40.9cm 員数: 1幅 所蔵: 京都国立博物館 Kyoto National Museum 呉春（ごしゅん：1752～1811）は宝暦二年（1752）に金座年寄役 松村嘉左衛門匡程の長男として生まれた。若い頃より俳諧、文人画に親しみ、蕪村の弟子となったが、すぐにその画才を認められるようになった。俳号を月渓と称し、天明二年（1782）に呉春と改名するまで、在白、孫石などの名を用いている。呉春と改名後、天明年間（1781～88）には円山応挙を相識るようになり、次第に画風を写生風に転じ、応挙没後は写生派の中心人物となり、四条派の祖となった。
