Sunday, 14 September 2008 This is a gorgeous original Japanese scroll painting of a beautiful woman, maybe a Geisha girl, walking in the spring snow. She is holding a Japanese umbrella and snow is already piling up on its top, also on the green grass along the road as well. Behind her, there is a peach tree bearing pink color buds in snow waiting for the time of full bloom. Please enjoy the fabulous color and detail beauty of the painting. I guess this painting was made in early Showa era, around 1930? 1940. There is a seal of the artist at the lower right corner, which reads in two characters, “Suizan”.
