Shin Hanga: Peshawar Artist: Charles Bartlett Format: Large oban yoko-e: 11.5" x 16" approx Subject: Peshawar in the extreme north of India. Tribesmen watering their camels within the city walls. Bartlett cleverly uses the shade of the trees to contrast with the city gateway aflame in the setting sun. As frequently found with this design, unsigned, but with monogramme and title in lower left corner. This example also has Bartlett's personal red circular seal bottom right.
