Catalog note / 解説
Hiyoshi was born in Tokyo, studied art with Okada Saburosuke and graduated from the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. In the early 1950's, he designed brightly colored woodblock prints of Korean people and their customs (this print included). Publisher seal in right margin. The print is signed \"M. Hiyoshi\" and has the stylized Mamoru seal and Shinagawa seal at the lower left of image. Printed by Ichimura. Carved by Kikuta. See other Hiyoshi prints in my personal collection here
