Catalog note / 解説
"Nehan Zu" Buddha on his death bed surrounded by the disciples. This print was printed later from the block which the artist had carved by himself. The signature was written by his heir. Kenkichi TOMIMOTO was a famous and influential modern ceramic artist who was one of the founders of the Mingei (folks art) movement. His innovative designs and deliqate overglaze enamels earned him the Order of Cultural Merit in 1961.
