Monday, 21 May 2007 Rare LIMITED-NUMBER original Japanese woodblock print “Water Lily” signed by the Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock master Tokuoka Shinsen (1896-1972) published by the famous KYOTO HANGA PRINTMAKER in 1950s. Tokuoka Shinsen is one of the most famous Shin Hanga woodblock artists in Tasho/early Showa. The print size is 14 x 18 1/4 inches, which is larger than traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. All four borders are intact. The artist’s signature and chop mark are at the lower right corner of the print.
