文化財指定: 国宝 寸法: 縦144cm:横127cm 員数: 1幅 所蔵: 京都国立博物館 Kyoto National Museum 毘沙門天（びしゃもんてん）は多聞天（たもんてん）とも呼ばれ、北方を守護する天部である。右手に宝棒、左手に宝塔を捧げるのは通有の姿で、くゆ座上に結跏趺坐している。教王護国寺旧蔵の十二天像の一幅で、史料から制作年代の知られる貿重な遺例。豊潤な彩色と華やかな截金（きりかね）文様が院政期の好みをよく示し、優美な毘沙門天像となっている。
