Yoichiro Kawaguchi is a Japanese digital artist renowned for his work in computer graphics. He has been creating artworks using computers since the 1970s, when personal computer was not accessible to many people and the artistic potential of computational technologies were not widely recognised. In recognition of his contributions to creative innovation, he received the ACM SIGGRAPH Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2010, the Medal in Purple Ribbon in 2013, and the title of Person of Cultural Merit in 2023.
