This painting is on fine silk that is laid down to a thick paper backing (usual for fine silk paintings). This is then laid down to the frame backboard. If you use the original frame you won't need to mount and centre the painting - it's already done. You can also make a new frame if you wish. The original wood frame is in very good condition. I don't see any damage to the front areas of the frame, and there is only minimal wear to the frame sides plus a few holes in the rear panel. The glass seems to be in fine condition but I'd prefer to ship without the glass to reduce the shipping costs and prevent damage to the painting if the glass broke in transit.
