Catalog note / 解説
"Tonko Shutsu Suigetsu Kannon Zu". From the series, "Kokka" (The Flowers of the Nation) published in Meiji era, which introduced old masterpieces of Japanese art. The albums included some of the most skillfully and elaborately produced woodblock prints. This one depicted a Suigetsu Kannon from the famous Buddhist murals in the hundreds of stone caves in Dunhuang (Tonkou in Japanese).
