Catalog note / 解説
This small booklet shows the process of making a woodblock print. No written explanation. The work is demonstrated with Shono, one of Hiroshige's Tokaido Fifty-Three Stations in 25 pages. Twelve different woodblocks (han-gi) plus one key-block to complete one design. Putting colors on woodblock prints is long and delicate process. Elaborate works such as shin-hanga bijin prints, need 50-100 printings to complete one design.
