Colour woodblock print, oban diptych. The kabuki actors (from right) Ichikawa Ebizo V as Saito Dosan, with a musket, and Iwai Shijaku I as Princess Yaegaki (‘Yaegakihime’) holding the sacred Suwa Hossho helmet belonging to Takeda Shingen, both surrounded by fox flames (‘kitsunebi’), in the play ‘Honcho nijushiko’, by Chikamatsu Hanji, Miyoshi Shoraku and others; performed at the Morita-za in the 7th month of 1836 (Tenpo 7).
