Colour woodblock print, oban triptych. The kabuki actors (from right) Seki Sanjuro II as the puppeteer ‘kairaishi’ Dekuroku Rokubei, Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as the footman ‘yakko’ Kibahei, Bando Hikosaburo IV as Yoritomo, Nakayama Tomisaburo II as the footman ‘yakko’ Tsuruhei, and Iwai Shijaku I as the princess Tatsuhime, in the Kiyomoto dance ‘Kobiki no hana iro kaomise’, (alternate reading ‘Koiji no hana kokoni kaomise’), in the play ‘Sakigake Genji kiba musha’ by Tsuuchi Jihei IV; performed at the Kawarasaki-za in the 11th month of 1828 (Bunsei 11).
