Catalog note / 解説

From the series "Sohitsu Goju-san Tsugi" ("Twin Brushes Fifty-three Stations"). A collaboration work by Kunisada and Hiroshige. The landscape in the upper inset by Hiroshige: "Chiriu". The upper inset depicts Yatsuhashi villege, which is famous for "kakitsubata" (iris) field. The lower inset depicts the famous poet Ariwara no Narihira in Heian court.
