Catalog note / 解説
View of Nakanodake Peak in Kozuke Province, from the series "Scenic Spots of the Kanto Region", by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) Precipitous peaks line the horizon, and travelers stop along a tiny mountain path to gaze out across the valley. The steep path is breath-stoppingly narrow. The scene evokes the grandeur of nature in contrast to puny mankind.
