Catalog note / 解説
This print series introduces famous restaurants in the city of Edo. In a private room on the second floor of the restaurant (undoubtedly reserved for wealthier patrons), a man and a woman dressed in indigo blue enjoy a spectacular view of Mount Fuji, which certainly would have contributed to the establishment’s renown. Four swords (katana) are placed on the rack in the back center, indicating the samurai rank of the male customers. “Hokusai’s Summit: Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” (09/24/2009-01/06/2010) ******************************
