Japanese woodblock print by Kunichika Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900) Fifty-Four Modern Feelings (Matched with the Fifty-Four Chapters of Genji): Chapter Forty Two, His Perfumed Highness (Genji gojuyonjo: dai yonjuni go, Niou Miya) depicting a beauty reading on a verandah while a young girl combs her hair, a standing screen with a painting of a waterfall in the background; signed Toyohara Kunichika hitsu with Toshidama seal, carver's mark Hori Gin, published by Takegawa Seikichi Year: ca. 1884 Condition: A very good impression with excellent color, backed, in very good condition overall. Dimensions: oban tate-e 35.8 by 24.2 cm
