Japanese woodblock print by Kunichika Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900) Fifty-Four Modern Feelings (Matched with the Fifty-Four Chapters of Genji): Chapter 44, The Writing Practice (Genji gojuyonjo: dai yonjuyon go, Tenarai) a view through a window surrounded by red maples with a beauty seated at writing table (bundai) holding a pipe in one hand while she reads a volume, a folding screen with blue waves surrounded by gold clouds in the background; signed Toyohara Kunichika hitsu, with Toshidama seal, carver's mark Hori Gin, published by Takegawa Seikichi Condition: A good impression with excellent color, backed, in very good condition. Year: ca. 1884 Dimensions: oban tate-e 35.8 by 24.2 cm
