Catalog note / 解説
Colour woodblock print, oban. The kabuki actor Bando Mitsugoro III as a dancing priest (‘bozu’), holding a mask and large pestle, in ‘Handa Inari’, the second of twelve dances in the hengemono ‘Shiki no nagame yosete mitsudai’, (lyrics by Fukumori Kyusuke I and music by Tobaya Richo I), performed at the Nakamura-za in the 3rd month of 1813. Subtitled 'Kisaragi' (the second lunar month).
