Catalog note / 解説
The seal on this print (small rectangle upper left) reads Shin-shö, which translates to the “first month of the year of the monkey” (1800). The crest on the upper part of the main figure's outer kimono is the personal crest (kae-mon) of actor Ichikawa Yaözö III. (from “Kabuki Actors on Stage” exhibition, 4/14/2003-)
