Catalog note / 解説
Print shows, in the background, Konami sitting inside a building, probably meeting with her lover Rikiya, who is not visible, though the hilt of a sword can be seen through the opening, at center is Wakasanosuke sitting on a porch, and, in the foreground, Honzō, a samurai and Wakasanosuke's retainer, cutting a pine branch from a small tree in front of the porch, demonstrating his loyalty. A scene from act two of the play Chūshingura or revenge of the 47 Rōnin.
