Once again actors are shown against landscapes, this time with foreground and background separated by a cloud device. The Thirty-six immortal poets were the outstanding Japanese poets from the time of the Manyoshu anthology to the end of the 10th century. One of Kunisada's best printed sets of bust portraits.
