Catalog note / 解説

"Tsuki Hyakushi; Shinobugaoka no Tsuki" (One Hundred Aspects of the Moon; Shinobugaoka Moon) no.76. Shinobugaoka (now Ueno Park) has been famous for the flowering cherry trees. People sit under the trees for the picnic and enjoy the cherry blossoms. A kimono is usually hung between the trees as a room divider. In this design, a kimono was stirred up by a sudden gust of wind and startled a young samurai, Gyokuensai.
