"Edo Nishiki"(Edo Brocade Pictures) Ladies are making "Mochi". "mochi gome" (glutinous rice) is pounded using a large wooden mortar and pestle to make the soft sticky dough. It will be cut in various shapes and sizes for the New Year's Day ornament and the dishes.
