A Small Shrine in Snow, Tazawa Lake, 1927 Kawase Hasui (1883? 1957) A Small Shrine in Snow, Tazawa Lake This beautiful Hasui snow scene of the small shrine at Tazawa Lake is a wonderful snow image. It’s easy to get lost in this serene view of a desolate snowy afternoon. The printer has added a light mica to the ink giving the whole scene a shimmering glow- wonderful effect. Signed- Kawase Hasui with red artist’s seal “sui” Sealed- Publisher Watanabe, 7mm seal, later edition original, from original blocks Image size- 14 1/4” x 9 1/4” (oban yoko-e) Condition- Excellent, no toning, tears, not mounted, full margins.
