Kawase Hasui: "Lingering Snow at Hikone Castle" (1934) Original First Edition woodblock print on fine washi. Paper size: 39.0cm (H) x 25.7cm (W) Image size: 36.2cm (H) x 23.8cm (W) Titled and dated Showa 9 (1934) in Japanese in left margin. Watanabe publisher's "D" seal (1931-1941) in right margin. Hasui signature in black ink with red sui seal in lower right of image. Excellent registration and impression with good bleedthrough of pigment to the verso. Superb baren work by the printer adding excellent texture to the image. The print has been extremely well kept down the years. It has never been set down. Has full margins.
