Catalog note / 解説

This is a beautiful original woodblock print by noted shin hanga printmaker Kawase Hasui. The print is an unusual image, one I haven't seen on ebay up until now. Measures about 9 1/2 x 14 1/2 or so, plus margins. Color and impression are excellent; condition is good (there is some residue in the upper margin, as you can see from the print, but nothing that will show when framed). Bears the 6mm Watanabe seal indicating an early postwar print.
