Catalog note / 解説
From the series, "Tabi Miyage, Dai-isshu" (Souvenirs of Travel, First Series), Katsura Island at Matsushima. Hasui stated, "Matsushima is seen here through the pine trees covering the small knoll on Katsura island. It is midsummer; the islands stand out in the afternoon light, a cool wind gently blows. I thought the two women, who had come to rake up the fallen leaves, fitted well into the composition and were ideal for this scene.".
