Tuesday, 21 June 2005 The artist is Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) and the title of this print is: Shichiri Beach in Soshu. The woodblock measures approximately 10-1/4" x 15-1/4". It has a D seal which dates it to between 1931 - 1941. The publisher is Watanabe. Very dramatic image in excellent condition. There is a slight buckling of the paper in the upper right. I am positive it can be flattened. It is housed in an original paper mat and backing and is lightly tacked in two spots on extreme top to the back. Colors crisp and great. It is signed in the left margin and also in the right margin
