Reflection of a mountain is the key motif in this print. Hasui’s reflection shows moves of water and light. Hokusai’s reflection (HAA#21955) is clear and still. Intersting aspect in Hokusai’s reflection is that reflection show snow-covered Mount Fuji, while the actual depiction of the mountain is not snow-covered. Hokusai is known to be an artist who enjoyed combining actual scene with his imagination.
