Kakemono-e: Courtesan on Parade Artist: Eisen Format: Kakemono-e: 28.75" x 9.75" overall Subject: A Courtesan with elaborate hair-pins and a huge comb on parade wearing an exotic kimono embroided with Chrysanthemums, Butterflies and Mandarin Ducks, her Obi is decorated with exotic birds among flowering Plum blossoms. Publisher: Sanuki Date: c. 1835 Condition: Very good colors with fugitive purple still intact. Paper slightly toned. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Small corner and edge damages. Generally good state of preservation. Impression: Very good impression.
