Catalog note / 解説
Isoda Koryüsai was the leading designer of prints depicting beautiful women during 1770s. He was able to capture aesthetic portraits of the women of his time, while introducing the customs of daily life in the brothel quarters. This print is one of a series called Courtesans Modeling the New Year’s Fashions, and it depicts two courtesans who, as fashion leaders, dress in the latest styles.
