Kiyochika, Kobayashi- Senbongui and Ryogokubashi Bridge- 1.jpg is: Woodblock by Kiyochika ‘1000 Poles at Ryogoku Bridge’ (1880) Evocative Meiji-era riverscene woodblock print by Kiyochika Kobayashi (1847-1915) titled “Senbon Kui Ryogoku-bashi” (translates as “One Thousand Poles at Ryogoku Bridge”) and margin-dated as “Meiji 13” (or 1880). This print is illustrated twice in the wonderfully descriptive book “Kiyochika, Artist of Meiji Japan” (Henry Smith, 1988) as Plates #21 and #80 (pages 34 and 71).
