Catalog note / 解説
Scene of Russian surrender at Ryojun Port (Japanese for Port Arthur - today: Lushun Port) during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905). The Russo-Japanese war prints were by far more scarce than the Sino-Japanese war prints. Among the genre of Japanese war prints, the ones made by Kiyochika have been regarded as the best in artistic quality.
