Catalog note / 解説
"Noh-gaku Hyaku Ban" (One Hundred Noh Plays). Elaborately printed with metallic pigments and embossing. This series is considered the best noh series done by Kogyo. The rare Noh triptychs depicting "Okina" (It means the pronouncing benediction by the old). This play was performed only on special occasions such as the New Year's Day. Its root was in the early religious prayers and dances, and therefore much older than other noh plays.
